Anna Carson

Anna Carson Anna Carson has performed as a solo recitalist and chamber musician throughout Australia. Winner of the John Allison/City of Sydney Scholarship and the prestigious Australian National Piano Award, Anna was also twice a keyboard finalist in the Symphony Australia Young Performers Awards.  She has appeared with The Queensland Orchestra, The Queensland Philharmonic Orchestra, The Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra Victoria.

After graduating from the University of Queensland as a student of Max Olding, Anna continued her studies at the Australian National Academy of Music in Melbourne during which time she had lessons from teachers including Boris Berman, Dominque Merlet and Ruvim Ostrovski .  Following her three years at ANAM she undertook an intensive course of study with Professor Lidia Baldecchi-Arcuri in Genova, Italy.

Anna has a passionate interest in chamber music and collaborates with a variety of musicians to present concerts throughout Australia.  Recent performance have included a Tasmanian tour with Trio Kharites, recitals for the St Aidan’s and Lyrebird Music societies with the Corda Trio and a collaborative performance with The Consort of Melbourne at the Melbourne Recital Centre.

Since 2006 Anna has been a sessional staff member at Monash University and a piano tutor at St Michael’s Grammar School, St Kilda.  In 2012, Anna completed an Advanced Diploma in Yoga Teaching and has since established the Australian Yoga and Music Academy where she offers music tuition, general yoga classes and yoga specifically designed for musicians.
