Adam McMillan

Adam McMillan is a Melbourne-based pianist. He has received awards including first prize in the MRC Great Romantics Competition, the Musica Viva Chamber Music Prize, and first prize in the Queensland Piano Competition. Adam graduated in 2017 from the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM), where he studied with Timothy Young. He has also attained a Bachelor of Music studying with Jenni Flemming at the Queensland Conservatorium, graduating with First Class Honours and a University Medal. Recent performance highlights include the Peninsula Summer Music Festival, Brisbane Baroque Festival, Canberra International Music Festival, Australian Showcase at the Sydney International Piano Competition, 4MBS Festival of Classics, Australian Piano Duo Festival, Camerata with Julian Bliss, and performing with Paul Dean in the inaugural Ensemble Q performance. Adam has performed as soloist with the Queensland Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra, ANAM Orchestra, and South Melbourne Symphony. His performances have been broadcast on ABC Classic FM, 3MBS, and 4MBS. Adam is the current recipient of the Margaret Schofield Opera Scholarship for Repetiteurs, with Melba Opera Trust.
