Brachi Tilles

Brachi Tilles was born and educated in Tel Aviv, Israel, where she graduated from the Rubin Academy of Music and obtained a Bachelor's degree in both Music and French Literature. Having decided to specialise in Chamber Music, she continued her studies in Vienna, Austria, where she began her association with the international chamber music group ENSEMBLE I.

Brachi came to Australia with the Ensemble in 1976, and was for a number of years the lecturer in piano at the Darling Downs Institute in Toowoomba, Queensland, returning to Melbourne in 1986. She appears as soloist with a number of orchestras, in chamber music with ENSEMBLE I and recitals with Australian and international artists. She frequently records for the ABC and tours Australia and Europe on a regular basis. In 1996 she returned to Queensland, continuing a very active career as a chamber music pianist. She joined the part time staff of the University of Queensland, teaching and performing in the chamber music and vocal departments, and continuing to perform with Ensemble I at the national and international level.
