Clemens Leske & Daniel HerscovitchBorn in Melbourne, Daniel Herscovitch studied with Alexander Sverjensky in Sydney and later with Rosl Schmid in Munich. Daniel’s repertoire ranges from the 17th to the 21st centuries. He regularly visits Asia, Europe and North America for concerts and masterclasses, and early this year toured Europe, giving more than a dozen performances of Bach’s monumental Art of Fugue. He has been privileged to have many composers write works especially for him and his CDs have been released on ABC Classics, Tall Poppies, CSM, Wirripang, Continuum and Toccata Classics labels. He is currently Associate Professor of Piano at the University of Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

Since forming their duo seven years ago, Clemens Leske and Daniel Herscovitch have presented a wide repertoire ranging from Mozart to Ligeti. As well as performing the classics of the repertoire they share a special interest in new music, as well as in lesser known works by composers such as Chabrier, Britten, Francaix and Grainger. They have recorded for Biodiversity and Wirripang labels.
